Noah Kahan Amongst the Moon - Fenway Park, July 19th 2024

from $25.00

The night before, I experienced the best, most fun, heartfelt performance I’ve ever attended. Noah sang his heart out for over 2 hours at his first night in Fenway. People crowded the sidewalks in Stick Season gear and Noah’s face was plastered on t-shirts with people trying to sell you something on every corner around Fenway. It was surreal to put myself in his shoes and think just 2 years prior, he was singing small venues in no-name towns for 200 people. I was really excited to return for night two to capture the experience. I knew he would be performing on the Green Monster at about 9:30pm from the night before, so I scoped out a spot to photograph him from the nearby bridge where the top of the Monster was visible before the show started. My sister joined me and we sat on a curb by the park and sang along with hundreds of others the whole night from outside the Park. Just as expected, the show went quiet around 9:25pm and I knew he was on his way to the Monster. We both sprinted to the spot on the bridge from earlier, and got there right when he made it to the top to perform his first song, Maine. Not only did it line up perfectly, but the moon was rising just above him. It was surreal to hear everyone singing along, and just below, out of frame of this photo, about 300 people were crowded on the parking lot below looking up at him while he sang. I shot about 30 photos. This was my favorite. Noah singing about one of his favorite places, an (almost) full moon rising above him, and a spotlight illuminating him among the 30,000 others who sang along with him. A forever moment.
